Not Eighth Week

I’ve been working on a post entitled “Still Eighth Week” since Monday night. Monday, I tell you. And by “work on” I mean “stare at” between obligations/illegal naps. It gets hard to post when there is so much class hanging around.

Specifically, I’ll be in Dakar, Sénégal for six months. I’ll be living with a family, learning Wolof, and taking classes in French. Because I am eight years old, I felt the need to explain this by typing “Africa” seven million times instead of using the actual words.

I have finished the socks and started a new pair, but I am not feeling inclined to dig out my camera at this particular moment.

Actually, I’m not inclined to do much at all at this moment.  Not to seem lazy, or anything.  =D  I have a sore throat and a headache, and a somwhat enormous pile of homework.

And it all drags on.

Mouse, I remember when you were eight years old. It was sometimes a struggle in some ways but you have always been at least twenty years older than your real age. With flashes of 2-1/2, of course. :-) And yes, I am old. 53 years or whatever. Kayaking, skiing, walking to the ends of the earth.

And, Amanda, get to London, girl!!!!
