Why wait any longer for the world to begin?

You can have your cake and eat it too.

I have had Lay Lady Lay on repeat for almost an hour. Don’t ask me why, and I’ll just tell you that every few months I turn it on and I can’t get enough of it. The truth is that I don’t know why myself. However, it is pure genius and I don’t really care if I never figure it out. =)

Uh oh…

Moom and I went to Treasure Mart today. We only got ourselves into $10.60 worth of trouble, in the form of the above. Don’t ask me what I need with a ceramic hippopotomus change bank, simply believe me when I say that I do. It stuck its ridiculous nose out of a fancy wooden shelving unit, and nearly tripped Moom. Then it jumped into my rather surprised arms and refused to leave.

Do you ever feel like a pouty three-year-old? I doubt it. But I do. All the time, in fact.  Let me tell you, there was no escape without this thing. However, it needs a name! If anyone has a suggestion…comments!! ’nuff said.

Next up:

Yesterday’s rather modest button purchase. (I swear that I can’t stay away from my Esteemed Place of Employment for even one measly little business day. It is the weirdest thing.) These enable me to finish another old project! It has been sitting in my yarn basket since winter, and it is definitely time to move it through. Two old sweaters finished in two weeks? Something must be in the air around here, and I’ll tell you this much: it ain’t essence of sloth.

(I’m getting weird. O_o It is late.)

I have also finished this:

The first sock. (I am going to cast on for the second immediately after I post, just to make sure. Send following-up-on-what-I-say vibes. Please, so I actually do it!!)

Finally, 23.3% of Moom’s shawl is finished. I am having fun with this pattern. ;D The diamond pattern is a little more visible here than in yesterday’s picture.  I have been carrying it around, along with the sock from above, in my new Lantern Moon sock bag.

I highly recommend these. I can throw it over my elbow and knit as I walk. Infinitely safer than tucking yarn under my arm to fall apart or get dropped in puddles.

I also highly recomment that you go eat some cookies and drink tea. Right now. Oh, and while you’re at it…turn on some Bob Dylan. It will all make your life better. I promise.

I beat you at the tea. I went to Big Boy last night with some friends for a late night snack, and ordered hot tea and french fries, haha.

can’t stand dylan, myself. but helped myself to a couple of the [burnt] chocolate chip cookies that were left from the batch that went to yesterday’s pasta dinner potluck…
