Fifth Week…

As you’ve probably gathered from the last post, my hair has been cut.  What you probably did not gather from the last post, I stood in as both cutter and cuttee.

There are probably few things in this world that are quite as horrifying and empowering as cutting your own hair.  I think there is a trick to it.  You can’t be that concerned with ending up with a really good haircut, and you have to be careless (committed?) enough to accept whatever results you get.  It was probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever done, because I wanted to be responsible for both my own horror and the outcome of my own head.

It’s fun how stupidly shocked people look when I tell them I did it myself.

Mouse needs to cut my horribly thick mop. I need some summer hair!

A friend has cut her hair for maybe 25 years; she does kindof a modified shag and it looks fine. Power to Mouse!

Pretty neat! It looks like a very good summer cabin porch job!
